It’s a new year and it’s time to do a wardrobe declutter and organize. My wardrobe is pretty small at the moment, but I have noticed a lot of things have been creeping in and cluttering up my (already small) space!
Clean along with me today and let me know how many things you decluttered from your wardrobe!
Wardrobe declutter tips:
- Work section by section to not overwhelm yourself! I started with all my hanging clothes this time and tackled them first before I moved onto my drawers and shelves.
- Only use 4 categories max.
1: Keep: My 3 key criteria for keep are: a) have used in last 3 months b) it fits me well c) I like wearing it
2: Donate/sell
3: Maybe. Keep in bag or box somewhere and set a reminder on your phone to check in after a few months to see if you missed it at all. If you didn’t you can donate or sell it.
4: Trash: Only if it’s not in good enough condition to sell or donate. Sometimes you can also make cleaning rags or drop sheets for painting out of old clothes and fabric. Animal shelters will also often accept donations of old bedding, blankets and towels as long as they are clean. - Always declutter BEFORE you organize. Remove any items that don’t need to go back in there first, this reduces your inventory and makes it SO much easier to organise your space.
