I’ve showed you my pantry before, but it was getting a bit out of control again. So I thought I’d take you through the organisation, clean and declutter I did recently. Believe it or not, but I did not have to buy any new containers or storage solutions!
The thing with a small space is to be realistic and consider a few key things to make it work for you (not against you).
- What do you need to access daily? Keep that at eye level or below so it’s easy to see what you have and to bring it out.
- What do you rarely use? In my case I only use our blender about ounce a week, so that’s fine to stay on the top shelf (and I can get my handy step ladder out if needed).
- If your pantry is deep and narrow, like mine is, make sure to use bins/containers stacked in front of each other so you can easily pull items out AND reach the things in the very back of the cupboard.
- Test what works for you and make sure to amend as you go. Sometimes you can set something up with the best of intentions, but it ends up not working at all in practice. The first time I organised this tiny pantry I got it about 70% improved, but with this last round I feel like it’s at 90% functional. With a few more rounds I’ll get it working even better. 🙂
